SKCH PU COLLEGE celebrated its Annual Sports Day on 5th November, Sunday at the Mallasandra Campus. The Event was inaugurated by our Principal Mr. Ravi Raja Bhat with the lighting of the lamp which signifies our Institution’s Vision - ‘Lead Kindly Light’. This was followed by the Invocation Song, Welcome Speech, address by the Principal, Oath Taking by the students and was concluded with the Vote of Thanks. Emulating an Ancient Greek Tradition of lighting a sacred fire, is a symbol of positive values. Man has always associated with the symbolism of fire. Our in-house athletes took part in the torch relay and finally lit up the cauldron as a symbol to start the events for the day. 

The students’ energy was vibrant and cheerful. Everyone was assembled with enthusiasm and were eager for the Sports Day to begin. Burning under the scorching heat, athletes and students kept their stamina and eagerness through out every race and the whole day. 
The important thing, more than winning or losing was everyone supporting and encouraging each other, that being the perfect example for Sportsmanship. Winning wasn’t the main goal, it was all about the spirit of competition, supporting each other, bonds forged through teamwork and all of them taking away a valuable lesson from every loss or victory. Sports has its own unique way of teaching us useful aspects of life. It was indeed an energetic and a cherish able day, a long yet short one, but most definitely a day which had the heart of all students.
